AminoCheck was developed by Dr. Aydin Duygu, a family physician with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and more than 15 years of clinical experience in amino acid science and metabolic physiology.

During his clinical work, Dr. Duygu identified three important limitations in conventional approaches to health and personalisation.
First, metabolic change may begin before clinically apparent disease.
Human metabolism is constantly adapting. Periods of imbalance, adaptation and compensation may develop before conventional disease markers become abnormal. Understanding these patterns may therefore provide additional insight into how metabolism is functioning, how it is adapting and where imbalances may be emerging.
Second, amino acids should not be interpreted in isolation.
Their clinical meaning extends beyond whether an individual value is simply high or low. Their balance, relationships and patterns can provide a more integrated view of metabolic physiology.
Third, standardised supplementation does not reflect individual biology.
Diet, lifestyle, nutritional status and metabolic requirements differ substantially between individuals. A genuinely personalised approach should therefore be guided by the individual’s measured biochemical profile.
These three observations shaped the AminoCheck methodology.
The laboratory measurement of amino acids is well established. Analytical technologies such as HPLC and LC-MS/MS have been used in biochemical and metabolic research for decades.

The work has received recognition within the UK healthcare innovation ecosystem, including through MedCity and the UK Innovator endorsement pathway. Research using the AminoCheck system has also been published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Frontiers in Pediatrics.
