AminoCheck is an evidence-based amino acid analysis and interpretation system designed to provide a deeper understanding of an individual’s metabolic state and translate that insight into a personalised approach to metabolic health.

AminoCheck was developed by Dr. Aydin Duygu, a family physician with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and more than 15 years of clinical experience in amino acid science and metabolic physiology.

Throughout his clinical career in Istanbul and London, Dr. Duygu has evaluated more than 15,000 amino acid profiles and applied this perspective in the care of thousands of patients.

That experience led to one fundamental principle:

If every individual is biologically different, meaningful personalisation should begin with measurement — not assumption.

This principle became the foundation of AminoCheck.

Why Amino Acids?

Amino acids are essential to human physiology. They are required for the production of proteins, enzymes, hormones and neurotransmitters, and play fundamental roles in energy metabolism and immune function.

Because their levels and balance change in response to nutrition, physical activity, stress, illness and metabolic demand, the amino acid profile provides a dynamic window into an individual’s current metabolic state.

The Clinical Thinking Behind AminoCheck

During his clinical work, Dr. Duygu identified three important limitations in conventional approaches to health and personalisation.

First, metabolic change may begin before clinically apparent disease.

Human metabolism is constantly adapting. Periods of imbalance, adaptation and compensation may develop before conventional disease markers become abnormal. Understanding these patterns may therefore provide additional insight into how metabolism is functioning, how it is adapting and where imbalances may be emerging.

Second, amino acids should not be interpreted in isolation.

Their clinical meaning extends beyond whether an individual value is simply high or low. Their balance, relationships and patterns can provide a more integrated view of metabolic physiology.

Third, standardised supplementation does not reflect individual biology.

Diet, lifestyle, nutritional status and metabolic requirements differ substantially between individuals. A genuinely personalised approach should therefore be guided by the individual’s measured biochemical profile.

These three observations shaped the AminoCheck methodology.

The AminoCheck Interpretation System

The laboratory measurement of amino acids is well established. Analytical technologies such as HPLC and LC-MS/MS have been used in biochemical and metabolic research for decades.

AminoCheck’s innovation lies not in measuring amino acids, but in interpreting what those measurements mean together.

Drawing on clinical experience, metabolic physiology and published scientific evidence, Dr. Duygu developed a structured interpretation system that analyses amino acid profiles within an interconnected metabolic network and integrates these findings with the individual’s broader metabolic context.

The objective is to transform complex biochemical data into clinically meaningful and personalised metabolic insight.

From Analysis to Personalisation

Dr. Duygu subsequently translated this clinical methodology into the AminoCheck digital platform, enabling structured, systems-based analysis of amino acid profiles.

The approach goes beyond analysis. Individual metabolic findings can inform a personalised strategy incorporating free-form amino acids, vitamins, minerals and relevant nutritional support, based on the individual’s profile, metabolic context and identified requirements.

AminoCheck brings together clinical medicine, biomedical engineering, amino acid biochemistry, metabolic physiology and digital technology.

Dr. Duygu founded Amino Acid Science Ltd. at the Imperial College London Translation & Innovation Hub (iHUB) to advance digital amino acid analysis models and clinical research. R&D activities in Teknopark Istanbul have focused on analysis-based personalised supplementation technologies.

The work has received recognition within the UK healthcare innovation ecosystem, including through MedCity and the UK Innovator endorsement pathway. Research using the AminoCheck system has also been published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Frontiers in Pediatrics.

Dr. Duygu is also the author of Dr. Amino Acid and founder of the London School of Amino Acids, established to advance professional education in amino acid science and its clinical applications.
