Frequently asked questions
What is the innovative system of AminoCheck?

Amino Acid Science Ltd pioneered this technique and evidence-based algorithm to undertake human amino acid profiling that enables a comprehensive physical, mental and nutritional check-up and thereby providing personalized supplementation tailored to the needs of an individual.

MedCity, UK endorsed this business as an innovation in Digital Health in 2020.

What does amino acid analysis examine?

Amino acid analysis is a laboratory technique used to analyze the types and quantities of amino acids present in blood sample. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and play critical roles in a wide range of biological processes, including the synthesis of proteins, neurotransmitters, and other molecules.

Is amino acid analysis a new method?

No, Amino acid analysis is not a new method. It has been a well-established and widely used method in biochemistry and nutrition research for many years. For the past 40 years, the HPLC and LC MS/MS methods have been used to accurately measure the levels of amino acids and metabolites that play a role in all of the body's functions.

What is new is we developed an amino acid analysis interpretation system that provides an evidence-based assessment of health and nutritional status and supplement recommendation to prevent health risks and improve physical and mental health.

This system called as AminoCheck was developed by Amino Acid Science Ltd established in Imperial College Innovation Hub, London, based on the studies of Dr. Aydın Duygu. The UK government has recognized Dr. Aydın Duygu as innovator in the field of medical technology and digital health.

What kind of information does AminoCheck analysis provide about your health?

AminoCheck analysis is an early warning system for future health problems or undetected diseases. Apart from health status and risks, it clearly reveals which nutrient support we need. So, you don't have to take random supplements.

Amino acid analysis can provide valuable insights into our health status and help guide nutritional and medical interventions to improve health outcomes.

Here are some examples:

  • Nutritional status: Amino acid analysis can help determine if we are getting enough amino acids from our diet. Essential amino acids are those that the body cannot produce on its own and must be obtained from food sources. A deficiency in amino acids can lead to impaired growth and development, as well as other health problems.
  • Identification of protein biomarkers: Amino acid analysis can help identify specific amino acids or patterns of amino acids that are associated with certain diseases or conditions. These amino acids can potentially be used as biomarkers for early diagnosis or monitoring of disease progression.Diagnosis of metabolic disorders: Certain genetic disorders, such as phenylketonuria (PKU) and maple syrup urine disease (MSUD), are characterized by defects in amino acid metabolism. Amino acid analysis can help diagnose these conditions by identifying abnormal levels of specific amino acids in the blood or urine.
  • Monitoring of disease progression and treatment: Amino acid analysis can be used to monitor disease progression and treatment in conditions such as cancer, liver disease, and kidney disease. Changes in amino acid levels can indicate changes in protein metabolism and overall health status.
What is the difference between AminoCheck analysis and routine Check-up controls?

The analyses performed for checkup purposes show positive results if there is a disease. Routine checkup controls such as blood tests, urine tests, and physical examinations are used to screen for a wide range of health conditions and assess overall health status. These tests typically measure markers such as cholesterol, blood glucose, liver enzymes, and kidney function.

In contrast, amino acid analysis is a more specialized test that specifically evaluates protein and amino acid metabolism that is related to all biological functions of human beings.

AminoCheck provides information about the types and quantities of amino acids present in a sample, which can be used to diagnose metabolic and psychologic disorders, monitor disease progression, and assess nutritional status.

How can AminoCheck analysis inform us about health conditions?

Amino acids play a role in all of our body's functions. Even a deficiency or imbalance in a single amino acid affects the functions of other amino acids. Many factors, such as intense stress, heavy exercise, unbalanced nutrition, and sadness, can cause a decrease or imbalance in amino acid levels. Therefore, by conducting an AminoCheck analysis it is possible to obtain information about the causes of many conditions from insomnia to changes in appetite, from hair loss to depression.

AminoCheck provides advanced amino acid testing and personalised amino acid supplements to optimise health, prevent conditions, and support treatment for various health issues.
